| On Sunday, February 27, 2005 Interlaken Resort and Country Spa hosted the presentation of a check from the Classic Car Rally and the Corinne Kreissl Memorial Foundation, Inc., to the American Cancer Society Wisconsin Division, Inc. Officers, directors and staff of the Lake Geneva based Memorial Foundation were on hand to present $61,210.00, the largest annual donation to date to fund the grand known as the Corinne Kreissl Memorial Foundation Grand for Cancer Research at the Medical College of Wisconsin, (Grant ROG-00-350-10) directed by Dr. Eric P. Cohen. The Memorial Foundation's annual event known as the Lake Geneva Classic Car Rally is held each September and features a week-end long poker rally around Lake Geneva in both directions. Last September's Rally was the 27th annual event and the amount raised the original rally in 1978 totals to $561,316.00. |

This Year's 28th Rally is Planned for September 24th & 25th 2005

Interlaken Resort is the host site for the 28th annual event and September 24 and 25 are the 2005 dates. The weekend kicks-off with a "Taste of the Car Rally" party on Friday evening, September 23rd at Samantha Richardson's home "Vagabond" on the south shore of Lake Geneva. A car show on Saturday morning by the lake front in Lake Geneva is planned before the dealing around the lake begins. On Saturday evening the Riviera Ballroom will be the site of the Hubcap-Runningboard Dance featuring an "Endless Summer Nites Beach Party." The poplar Legends Band will bring back the Rockin' Hits of the Beach Era. This year again an antique wood boat show will be taking place at the Abbey Resort in Fontana. The event sponsored by the Blackhawk Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society Inc., will feature an in the water show on Saturday from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. and Sunday from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. Dealing for the Car Rally will be at the Abbey Harbor House both days. On Sunday, as Rally participants complete their around the lake tour, a car show will be staged on Interlaken grounds on Lake Como and weather permitting, a flyover by antique aircraft and Warbirds from the World War II era will take place before the awards program and finale at 2:30 P.M. at the Chalet.
